California Dreamin’ with Didu

From São Paulo to Venice, Didu Losso is a musician turned visual artist who’s making waves. The Brazilian-born and bred auteur delivers a signature style — simple and direct — that’s a bittersweet serenade to the streets of LA.

Whether its California lifestyle imagery like graffiti art, skateboarding and palm trees swaying in the hazy West Coast sunset or mystical religious symbology like Our Lady of Guadalupe, intricate Christian crosses and oxidized human skulls, fierce self-expression is the name of the game with Didu.

“Art saved my life so I’ve got to be thankful for that...and I was so excited about the collaboration that I designed most of the collection in a month-and-a-half. I started with a few designs and had most of the collection together quickly. For me, it’s an honor to be here at Tees + Jeans creating this collection.”

Recently, we sat down with the mercurial Brazilian maestro to find out more about his streetwise inspiration, his intense creative process and his exclusive month-long collaborative exhibition with Tees + Jeans called 11California.
