Welcome to Fam Jam, an ongoing Junk Food Journal series that highlights some of the amazing creative folks that make the Junk Food brand what it is. Let’s jam!

Kayla Shaw is the 31-year-old senior designer at Junk Food Clothing. Originally from Ohio, she’s lived in LA for six years after graduating from Kent State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Fashion Design.

Currently, she’s focused on developing exclusive capsule collections for the brand including our recent collaboration with LA-based ingenue and chic style maven Gabbriette Bechtel.

“What really inspires me is music,” she said. “I’ve always been drawn to it and the vibe that it can create. I think it contributes a lot to creativity and gets me in the mood to tackle different projects at different times. I always have music playing at my house and I’m the girl at the office with headphones on.”

“My ultimate artist collaboration would be with Banksy because he’s so elusive and he has such an awesome approach to art. I don’t even know if it possible to collaborate but it would be so cool to explore it and see what could come out of it.”
